Chris Schumacher serves high net worth individuals and their families with investment strategy, planning and management to help them achieve their financial and personal goals. Chris joined Geller & Company in 2014. He has been advising and managing institutional and private client assets for over 15 20 years and brings expertise across a full range of investment strategies, including traditional and non-traditional strategies in hedge funds, private equity, venture capital and real estate.
Prior to joining Geller & Company, Chris was a Director at Solaris Alternative Asset Management, where he was responsible for business development and for providing fixed income analysis and risk management. He also served as Director of Research at Papamarkou Wellner Asset Management, focusing on market and manager research, strategic and tactical asset allocation and portfolio construction for the firm’s high net worth clients. He also was Co-Portfolio Manager of the firm’s fund of hedge fund portfolio, as well as a Registered Representative and trader for client accounts. Chris began his career as a Senior Investment Analyst responsible for asset allocation, performance and attribution analysis with the investment consulting firm, Cambridge Associates. In this role he focused on university endowments, non-profit organizations, pension plans and high net worth individuals.
Chris is passionate about service and giving back to his community. He serves his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard. He is also Treasurer and Member of the Board of Directors for the non-profit foundation, Friends of Barnstable Harbor, Barnstable, MA. Chris holds a B.A. in Business Management from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. Chris resides in New York City with his wife and daughter.
